DETROIT -- Cubs catcher Geovany Soto, the reigning National League Rookie of the Year, tested positive for marijuana while representing Puerto Rico during the 2009 World Baseball Classic and has been banned from international play for the next two years.

Soto, who did not start today against the Detroit Tigers, will not be disciplined by Major League Baseball or the Cubs.

"While I fully acknowledge my inappropriate behavior, I want to assure my fans and my family that this was an isolated incident," Soto said in a statement released by the Cubs during their game against the Tigers. "I do not say this to minimize or deflect from my conduct and I fully understand the ramifications of my actions. I have and will accept any and all consequences.

"When you amplify the strength of it, you are increasing the harm to the system," said Curran, who supports the legislation, which would amend a federal law. "They are more dangerous behind the wheel of a vehicle. It's not a good idea to have people that messed up."

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has reported that kush sells for as high as $600 per ounce--creating the same profit potential as crack cocaine, according to Kirk.

He will release more information during a news conference in Chicago Monday, where he will be joined by representatives from the Lake County Sheriff's Department, the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group and Waukegan Police Department.

Of the over 400 strains of hemp, why do you suppose the only one that druggies promote, the only one they claim will save the planet, is cannabis?

There’s: Sisal, Manila, Indica, Sunn, Spontanea, Borealis, Medioruthenica, Australis, Asiatica, Datisca, Sansevieria, Apocynum, Hibiscus, Nauritius … I could go on; there are plenty more, but you get the point.

“Ya-all think it could have something to do with the fact that cannabis sativa is the only one containing THC, the active ingredient that gets the user high?” Why is it, they don’t mention that fact … that it’s the only one containing THC?

Not long after hemp became part of the ‘comprehensive legalization plan for pot’, Canadian farmers were conned into growing it. Post-harvest, much of their crops lay rotting in a warehouse for there wasn’t a competitive market for it. That resulted in bankruptcies for numerous farmers.

For some reason, they could not compete with hemp grown at the 3rd-world-wages of pennies a day.

Did this stop the Vote Hemp and other organizations from promoting it as a viable crop? No. Do they care about the farmers who went bankrupt? What do you think? They’re now promoting it to America’s farmers across the nation – don’t believe me? Research it.

There’s another part of the picture they don’t tell you. You’ve possibly had one of them tell you this. Next time, be ready. Laugh right in their face and tell them “the rest of the story”!

They often state the fact that George Washington grew hemp and that’s correct, he did. but that was before there were cheaper and more effective products to produce sails and ropes. What they don’t tell you is, for him to grow it as a viable crop even then, Washington had to use slave labor!

Oh; there’s another reason to grow hemp – other than just part of the plan to gain acceptance of marijuana - related products and all. Hemp flowers can be used to “cut” the product – users and dealers are not all idiots; some have a real sense of marketing.
